  This Porsche 911 997 Gen 1 Carrera 4 Titanium manifold studs set is designed and manufactured to replace the OEM Porsche exhaust manifold/header bolts that over a period of being subjected to road crud rust away. The studs ,twelve off for this kit are made of titanium with a roll formed thread to ensure superb quality of thread. The washers twelve of them in this kit, are machined from Titanium and are designed for header/exhaust manifolds that have larger fixing openings in. The K-nuts ,twelve off for this kit, have been specified due to their ability to not work loose during service even when subjected to vibrations. The K-nut is a very clever fixing that is used in the aerospace and motorsport industries where parts falling off could cause catastrophic accidents. K-nut’s can only really be used once as it works by miss forming the thread when being put under load. Fitting these titanium studs future proofs the removal of header/ exhaust manifolds as the studs do not rust even when subjected to years of heat-cool cycles , road salt and moisture.

The Porsche 911 997 Gen 1 Carrera 4 Titanium manifold studs  have been designed as a perfect replacement to the OEM steel bolts that badly corrode when installed in the Porsche aluminium cylinder heads. The steel from the bolt and the aluminium head are dissimilar metals and as such a galvanic reaction occurs which effectively fuses the bolt into the aluminium head. When the time comes to carry out some maintenance that requires the exhaust manifold or exhaust header to be removed from the cylinder heads the bolts, however carefully removed often snap off.
