This Porsche 718 GTS 4.0 Titanium DPF to Backbox fixing Kit set is designed and manufactured to replace the OEM Porsche studs and nuts that fix the exhaust back box to the Dust Pollution Filter. It is prudent to replace the OEM studs and nuts that over time and being subjected to road crud rust away.
The studs ,ten of them in this kit, are made of titanium with a roll formed thread to ensure superb quality of thread.
The K-nuts ,ten of them in this kit, have been specified due to their ability to not work loose during service even when subjected to vibrations.
The K-nut is a very clever fixing that is used in the aerospace and motorsport industries where parts falling off could cause catastrophic accidents.
K-nut can only be used up to five times but its prudent to change them each time they are replaced. The K-nut locks by miss-forming the thread when being put under load.
Fitting these titanium studs future proofs the removal-re-installation of the exhaust backbox as the studs do not rust even when subjected to years of heat-cool cycles , road salt and moisture.
Do not be temped by cheaper titanium kits that are supplied with inferior quality brass or copper nuts. These are, in our experience, more prone to vibrate loose due to the weaker brass or copper material.
